Our very own Roberta Price, Health Services Director, is making a notable impact on the lives of our residents, while inspiring other staff to do the same! She is one of the many Bethesda Senior Living care givers training in Teepa Snow's POSITIVE APPROACH™ - a progressive therapy for helping seniors and their families recognize and manage the early signs of memory change.
As the Health Services Director at Bethesda Gardens Arlington, Roberta and her team have worked diligently to meet the needs of residents with some form or memory impairment or dementia, and although Bethesda Gardens Arlington is an assisted living community, applying the Teepa Snow POSITIVE APPROACH™ has proven to be beneficial for the residents and staff alike!
"By using the Teepa Snow POSITIVE APPROACH™, one of our care managers was able to assist a resident who was looking for her baby. She was visibly upset and anxious. By sitting down with the resident and talking to her about all the things that she does to care for her child she was able to calm her. Additionally, the care manager used the hand-under-hand™ technique to redirect her to an activity. Our community has benefited greatly by using the approach because we have found it lessens anxiety for the residents and staff members.”
Roberta Price has worked at Bethesda Gardens, Arlington since April 2015. As a LVN, Roberta has over 30 years of experience in Healthcare including working in nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, and home care. Roberta also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration.
